Salary: Up to £60,000 basic salary + OTE of £90,000-£100,000

About the role:
The company is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth and expand its client base in the commercial solar energy sector. As they continue to establish themselves as a key player in the renewable energy market, they require a dynamic professional to identify new business opportunities, build strong client relationships, and manage the sales process from initial contact to closing. The BDM will be expected to conduct market research, develop and implement strategic sales plans, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure client needs are met efficiently and effectively, contributing to the company's overall growth and success.
Responsibilities:
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the commercial solar market.
* Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company growth targets.
* Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and potential clients.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
* Conduct comprehensive client needs assessments and present tailored solar energy solutions.
* Coordinate with internal teams, including design, engineering, and project management, to ensure client requirements are met.
* Negotiate contracts and close sales deals with clients.
* Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals.
* Maintain detailed records of sales activities and client interactions in CRM software.
* Collaborate with marketing teams to develop and execute campaigns that generate leads and raise brand awareness.
* Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network and promote company services.
* Provide regular sales forecasts and reports to senior management.
* Stay updated on government policies, incentives, and regulations related to solar energy to advise clients accurately.
* Monitor and analyse sales performance and adjust strategies as needed to meet or exceed targets.
What are we looking for?
* Proven experience as a Business Development Manager
* Demonstratable experience within the Commercial PV space
* Familiarity with solar energy solutions, commercial-scale solar projects, industry trends, and regulatory frameworks
* Experience with CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) to manage client data and track sales
* Results and target driven
* Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective client presentations and negotiations
* Strong negotiation skills for managing contracts, agreements, and pricing discussions
