Field Based Role
This role is a newly created field-based sales position within Henderson Foodservice Ltd., working across NI to support the continued development of Fresh Meat & Poultry Categories within the Henderson Foodservice offering.

A look into the role...
Henderson Foodservice is the leading supplier to the food service industry in Ireland. We source and supply a range of thousands of products to customers including hotels, restaurants, and public sector organisations such as hospitals and offices. We are passionate about food, quality and excellent customer service.
Following another year of record growth, our Business Development Executive team continue to exceed our growth targets, and we are therefore seeking to appoint an additional BDE to support our continued business growth and help us deliver outstanding service to our existing customers as well as potential new customers.
This role will be very well suited to a candidate who is self-motivated, ambitious and who thrives on achieving targets. We’re looking for someone with excellent product knowledge in the Fresh Meat & Poultry categories, who is passionate about delivering an outstanding service to customers.

As Business Development Executive, you will:
* Strive to develop our share of major accounts as a first-choice partner in food service within the Northern Ireland marketplace.
* Design and implement plans to maximise sales and margin opportunities through building and maintaining sound customer relationships.
* Create, develop and implement effective approaches to driving sales in your area, through developing existing customer relationships and developing new ones.
* Work closely with key stakeholders to support optimising category range & sector development, product sourcing, product specification, pricing, stock holding, forecasting, seasonal needs & customer/market trends.
* Analyse and interpret weekly & monthly sales/margin performance & make recommendations with regards to focus and direction by category, customer, sector, channel & territory.
* Develop and share effective reports, insights & presentations, to a variety of internal/ external stakeholders in relation to the direction, opportunities and progress of the Meat & Poultry Category performance.
Skills for Success
Joining us as Business Development Executive the minimum criteria you’ll need is:
* Minimum of 2 years’ sales experience, ideally in the foodservice industry, including developing sales plans in line with objectives & targets.
* Experience working within the NI Foodservice, catering/ hospitality industry, and an understanding of the needs and working patterns of our customers.
* Sound working knowledge of meat and poultry products/cuts in the Irish Foodservice market, including the factors that influence seasonality & range.
* Proven commercial acumen, with the ability to analyse and interpret data and information, produce insights & make recommendations for continuous improvement.
* Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
* A full and valid driving licence.
* Good standard of education, including GCSE Maths & English or equivalent.

Desirable Criteria
It would be advantageous if you also have:
* Degree or Management Qualification.
* Experience working in a butchery environment.
* Experience of Product Sourcing, Buying & Dealing directly with Fresh Protein.
* Experience of managing Key Accounts/Groups.
* Experience of completing Tenders.

This is a full-time position working 36.5 hours per week. Working hours will be 8:45am-4:45pm Monday to Thursday and 8:45am-3:45pm Friday. Hybrid working arrangement available.
