A bit about me:
I am a friendly 40-year-old female. I live with my Mum but I am looking for someone to support me in my home and when I am out and about in the community as I have autism with only a little speech. Amongst other activities I enjoy playing games on my iPad, watching films and doing quizzes.
About the role:
Although I am able-bodied, I do need help with personal care including bathing, hair washing, dressing and some toilet needs. I would like someone who can prepare simple meals and then enjoy sitting down to eat with me. Whilst in the house I would like a friendly face to enjoy my activities with and when out and about someone to keep me safe. I enjoy going swimming and using my National Trust and English Heritage memberships but on these trips there would typically be another adult to help as well (either my mum or my other PA). It is requested that the applicant be female due to the role involving personal, intimate care. For this reason it is exempt under the General Occupational Requirement Section of the Equality Act 2010.
The kind of person I am looking for:
Friendly and approachable, responsible, reliable and trustworthy. Good communication and social skills. To respect confidentiality and privacy and be sensitive to my needs. Be able to accept responsibility. Be willing to learn and have the ability to work on your own initiative.
