Role: Team Leader
Location: Whinfell School, Kendal
Hours: 42 per week (52 working weeks per annum)
Salary: £32,672.64 per annum
We are now recruiting for a Team Leader who has a genuine passion for care and who wants to make a difference to the lives of the young people we support. You will have the ability to maintain a stable, happy and caring environment that puts the health, safety and welfare of our young people first
As a Team Leader you will:
* Lead by example and lead shifts when required
* Assist with rota management where required
* Observe and monitor the wellbeing of the individuals we support
* To provide appropriate physical and emotional support to young people in residence through the work of a team of care staff within a residential environment.
* Effective management of a team, which involves motivating, coaching, managing performance via probation/appraisal and auditing the quality of care.
This role is critical in ensuring that ‘The Children’s Home Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards’ are exceeded. It also provides the opportunity to develop and improve practice.
Qualifications
* Minimum of a Level 3 RQF Child and Young Person’s Workforce qualification or equivalent (Essential)
* Proven supervisory experience in a leadership role
* Strong communication skills to effectively engage with team members and clients
* Ability to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs
* Valid driving license and experience in driving, particularly in a care home setting
* Familiarity with IT systems to support operational efficiency in senior care environments

Whinfell School is located on two sites in the picturesque town of Kendal, Cumbria and forms both home and school with outstanding facilities to enable students to learn, progress and grow as individuals. We have a proud and successful tradition of supporting students between the ages of 11-19 years with Autism Spectrum Condition, complex needs and associated learning difficulties.
