Part of the wider Commercial Finance team, we partner with the business to drive value through our insight, influence, and collaboration. This involves the key financial skills of reporting, forecasting, and modelling to support ASOS in making proactive decisions to deliver profit and cash. Commercial Finance partners the following business teams: Sales, Marketing, Product, Stock and Supply Chain. We are part of a cross-functional Finance team who also partner with FP&A, Financial Control, Tax, Treasury, and Accounting to ensure visibility and ownership of the numbers by the business.
The Details
This role is responsible for business partnering the Own Brand, Test & React, and Wholesale team and working closely alongside the Commercial Directors for those areas to drive their business division forward. This will be through understanding their various margins, sales performance, stock holding, intake position, and different revenue streams and holding them accountable to their budgets and performance. You will also be responsible for the development of your team and that of wider finance as a leader in the Commercial Finance group.
What Youll be Doing
* Managing and developing a team of one analyst, but helping to lead the development of others in the Product and Central finance team as we become more integrated as a function.
* Acting as a finance business partner to the Own Brand, Test & React, and Wholesale teams to understand the business division performance and support them in their Finance requests.
* Building a strong understanding of the profit model to drive Commercial decisions to drive an overall improvement in Variable Contribution.
* Updating senior management on intake, margin, and sales performance, and providing insightful analysis on business division outlooks.
* Leading monthly business reviews in the product area to ensure appropriate tracking of performance, with value-add analysis to help deep dive problem areas.
* Driving and managing the rolling margin and ASP forecasts and integrating these outputs with other business teams such as the warehouse process, whilst monitoring any risks and opportunities in these areas.
* Working closely with the Financial Accounting and FP&A teams to manage month-end and the overall story of the drivers of performance.
* Analysis and modelling the cash and P&L for business cases, utilising the profit model to inform business decision making and help conduct commercial analysis once launched.
* Supporting key business strategies including Test and React and Heartlands Topshop Topman with financial insights and performance monitoring.
About You
* ACA/CIMA/ACCA Qualified.
* Ability to analyse and interpret financial data, draw conclusions and make recommendations.
* Strong communication and the capability to prioritise and work in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and line management skills.
* Financial modelling and use of financial and reporting systems (MS Excel, SQL Server, Microstrategy, TM1, Dynamics all preferred).
* Excellent presentational skills (MS PowerPoint) and confident presenting to senior management.
