JOB DESCRIPTION
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Effectively report any HSE or productivity issues through the correct channels
2. Work to achieve high quality in the assembly and welding of component parts
3. Fit up and weld using SMAW and GMAW processes.
4. Perform arc and oxy-acetylene welding, cutting and brazing on various ferrous and nonferrous metals, in accordance with established methods and procedures.
5. Be proficient in the use of all welding equipment, machinery and tooling used in the Fabrication Shop.
6. Work to weekly production schedule highlighting any key areas which may prevent achieving daily targets
7. Interpret weld procedures, engineering drawings from sketches, materials and electronic images identifying the most efficient, cost effective solution without compromising quality or safety
8. Maintain welder traceability (when applicable)
9. Follow recognised procedures for issuing and returning of welding consumables from stores (rods, wire, flux)
10. Notify the Supervisor of any mistakes, omissions or alterations necessary to drawings or bills of material
11. Contribute to the development of systems and improvement in working practices and processes
12. Accurately complete details on time sheets/Kronos electronic timekeeping - return them to the Supervisor daily and on completion of a specific jobs
13. Participate in resolving assembly and production issues
14. Complete regular preventive maintenance
15. Report malfunctions to Maintenance as needed
16. Maintain production area housekeeping
17. Minimize waste by using/disposing of raw materials and consumable items efficiently

Qualifications:
1. Time served apprenticeship or HND in a relevant subject
Experience:
1. Working knowledge within a welding & manufacturing environment including the preparation of components
2. Working knowledge of offshore skid manufacturing processes
Skills, training or special knowledge
1. Ability to read engineering drawings, where applicable
2. Fabrication techniques
3. MiG, Tig, oxy-acetylene welding and cutting.
Quality Assurance
Carry out all duties in accordance with the Quality Assurance procedures and department/area work instructions.
Contribute to general improvements in the quality and key activities of the department/area.
Training Participate in training where required. Health, Safety and Environment
Carry out all duties safely and in accordance with the Health & Safety Policy, Employee Handbook, procedures, training and instruction.
To be safety conscious and report any safety hazards to the HSE representative.
