Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking to utilise your clinical experience within a community setting? Do you want to develop your management and leadership skills within a fast-paced operational environment?
If you can answer yes to any of the above then we may just have the job for you! This maternity leave cover post will see you work closely with multi-organisation partners to improve the patient experience, timeliness whilst facilitating appropriate discharge destinations.
The DTA Beds Therapy Team provides ongoing therapy and facilitates discharges. This includes managing caseloads across multiple care homes in South and West Hertfordshire. We also complete home visits to organise equipment for discharge home all in a timely manner with the assistance of social services. The team works closely with our DTA / Rapid Response Therapy Team who provide prevention of admission and early supported discharge services., within Unplanned Care.
We are looking to recruit an experienced Occupational Therapist to co-lead the Discharge to Assess (DTA) bed therapy service within West Hertfordshire. If you have experience of leading within health services and have a desire to further develop a service in a highly performing, stimulating and fast-paced environment then this may be your opportunity.
You will be fully supported by the team and service manager as you grow your knowledge of clinical services within West Hertfordshire and beyond to ensure patients receive the most appropriate care in a timely manner.

• The post holder will work autonomously and in collaboration with the community teams within CLCH, other health and social care professionals, statutory and voluntary agencies, and HCC to deliver excellent standards of patient care.
• Take designated responsibility for discrete areas of operational management/ clinical practice.
• Prioritise and manage own workload with minimal supervision.
• Work within professional standards and clinical guidelines, promote best practice and to undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner including assessing and treating own caseload of patients/clients and maintaining professional documentation.
• Be responsible for the supervision of AHP staff, rehabilitation assistants and AHP students on placement.
• Support self and service development through active participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and by participating in any audit or research being undertaken by the service.
