An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Equality & Human Rights Team, within the Patient Experience Department, to undertake BSL interpretation work for patients and staff. This role also involves supporting NHS Fife with accessibility for Deaf BSL users and their families, including developing BSL communication videos.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage a busy workload and work to tight deadlines.
2. Adapt to changing priorities and demands.
3. Provide BSL public sector interpreting services.
4. Manage your own diary effectively.
5. Travel across Fife as required.
6. Ensure confidentiality and liaise at all levels.
7. Support the development of BSL communication resources.
Requirements:
* Excellent communication skills and BSL interpreting skills.
* Strong administrative, customer service, and organisational skills.
* Understanding of confidentiality.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional Information:
Working alongside a knowledgeable team, you will help NHS Fife meet legislative requirements such as the Equality Act 2010 and the BSL Act Scotland 2015, promoting equality across NHS Fife.
Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this role may require a different level of criminal records check, including joining the PVG Scheme if assessed as a 'regulated role'.
