Trust Doctor CT1/2 in Trauma and Orthopaedics

Full-time including participation in a full shift rota system working 1 in 10.
The successful trainee is expected to provide day to day care for in-patients on the wards, HDU and ITU. They should see all their patients prior to surgery and, whenever possible, should be in theatre to assist and be taught. In out-patients, they will see new patients under the supervision of a consultant and will be expected to present cases to the consultant and discuss future management.
Main duties of the job
Duties include day to day care of patients on the Surgical/Orthopaedics Wards, attendance at ward rounds, operating lists and general out-patient clinics and the responsibility for the Consultants' patients on the wards. A full shift system in general surgery is worked.
The postholder will primarily work along the F2 doctors reviewing the patients on the trauma orthopaedic ward, the children's ward and other orthopaedic beds. The postholder will also arrange the admissions and initial management of emergency admissions.

Experience/ Qualifications
* Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
* Advanced Life Support Certificate from the Resuscitation Council UK or equivalent
* MRCS or in process of sitting exam or appropriate specialist qualification
