Maintenance Electrician
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining plant and site facilities to maximise process utilisation. To contribute to technical improvements and process developments. To ensure that plant and infrastructure are maintained safely, to the highest possible standard, whilst complying with relevant legislation and company policy. Working out of our Long Marston site, you will report into the Maintenance Manager.
Hours of Work : 6.00am - 2.00pm/2.00pm - 10.00pm 40hr week
Pay £15-£17 per hr depending on experience
Key Responsiblities for the Maintenance Electrician
Immediately respond to the correction of plant breakdowns
Carry out preventative electrical maintenance on site, with subcontractors as necessary
Provide technical support to production staff in plant operation
Recommend and implement cost reduction and safety improvement initiatives on site
Demonstrate proactive participation in safety initiatives, challenging self and others to maintain the highest possible standards of safety and environmental performance
Assist in the operation of the site to ensure plant availability and production is maintained at the highest possible level
Committed to achieving plant availability and production targets
Use data and experience to make complex decisions, to facilitate solutions to plant issues
Assist in mechanical works
Call-outs may be necessary in order to support the department, site and facilities
Logical approach to practical problem solving
Perform such other duties as the Company may from time to time reasonably require

High level of attention to detail and accuracy
Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable to differing shift times as required
Able to work under pressure in a fast-moving production environment

Experienced electrician with an 18th Edition Wiring Regulation Certificate
Experience of working in medium / heavy industry
Experience of PLC systems, variable speed drives, HMIs and SCADA systems
Experience of maintenance, repair and installation of all types of electrical systems
Able to construct simple control panels and interpret electrical drawings
Knowledge of OEM instruction manuals
Knowledge of control instrumentation
Able to demonstrate a logical approach to fault finding
Experience of working on control equipment for pumps, hydraulic systems, pneumatics, conveyors, industrial sensors and complex production plant process systems
UK driving licence required
Scissor lift licence required (can be arranged)
Cherry picker licence required (can be arranged)
Able to work at height and in confined spaces
