We’re recruiting now for a part-qualified Assistant Accountant to join our Digital Finance Team in our Cleckheaton office. The Digital Finance Team is based across our Sheffield, Cleckheaton, Leeds and York offices. We offer a total accounting solution to help businesses, which includes: • Financial Accounting • Management Accounting • Tax & Compliance • Bookkeeping • Technology Partnerships Role objective : To perform bookkeeping and management accounts services and provide an exceptional service for a variety of clients. Accountabilities : • Working to budget on each role • Supporting more junior colleagues in developing their knowledge and skills • Seeking opportunities for promotion of other services within BHP Key Responsibilities : • Providing a bookkeeping service in house for clients of the firm including processing and maintaining purchase ledger, sales ledger, and nominal ledger • Bank Reconciliations • Preparation of VAT returns • Preparation of management accounts • Preparation of year end accounts • Preparation of Corporation Tax returns • Using technology to streamline the bookkeeping process and liaising with clients • Manage individual workflow as part of our wider outsourcing team, working closely with clients daily • Dealing with a varied client portfolio including OMBs, in ecommerce, technology and construction industry Person Specification : • AAT Level 4 part-qualified (preferred) or qualified by experience • Previous experience in Practice (preferred) or Industry • Effective communication skills, both written and in person, with experience of attending and contributing to (client) meetings • Good IT skills, including experience of using different accounting packages or systems (ideally Xero) and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook • Accurate, methodical, and organised • Personable
