Job Description
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Data and AI Services organization has a rare opportunity to play a critical part in building a critical Oracle Cloud Data Service. You will assist in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. The position regularly interacts across functional areas with senior engineering management or executives to ensure that the objectives are met. You will have the ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Attention to detail and ability to multitask is important. Strong leadership skills are required.
The Senior Director of Engineering in the OCI Data & AI services group will be responsible for development, design, global operations, planning, forecasting and execution of a critical Cloud Service. Responsibilities of this role include:
1. Setting the technical direction for the architecture of the Managed Data Platform in collaboration with other senior technical resources.
2. Developing strategic plans to accomplish technical as well as business objectives in partnership with leaders across various Oracle business groups and customers.
3. Drive innovation within the Managed Data platform through advancement of OCI data services.
4. Management responsibility over multiple software engineering teams.
5. Building high performing geographically distributed engineering teams through hiring and coaching.
6. Establish and implement engineering strategies that align with applicable standards and regulatory practices.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Director of the software engineering division, you will apply your extensive knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and envision future improvements to the architecture.
Minimum Requirements
1. 15+ years of professional software development experience with an advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering.
2. 10+ years of professional experience in Cloud Operations/Cloud Infrastructure Engineering preferably in a multinational organization.
3. 10-15 years of experience leading and developing engineering program focused teams.
4. Experience in managing large teams, Managers and Senior Managers.
5. Strong Data Services skills (Big Data or Data Analytics or NoSQL or OLTP database management systems).
6. Passion for fixing problems with curiosity.
7. Strong analysis and reporting skills with attention to detail and accuracy at the senior executive level.
8. Ability to collect, organize, and display data in consumable format.
9. Able to meet quick turnaround times in a fast-paced environment.
10. Experience in working across business units and with cross-functional collaboration.
11. Embrace and adopt to quick changes.
12. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Range and benefit information
US: Hiring Range in USD from: $141,200 to $338,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
