Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer - The Role:
As a Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality power generation and emergency backup systems. Your expertise and hands-on approach will ensure smooth installations, effective communication with clients and colleagues, and a flexible response to rapidly changing project needs.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys taking ownership of complex engineering challenges. Your contributions will directly impact our mission to provide reliable, cutting-edge power solutions across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Installation of new hardware to existing installations including power and control cabling
2. Provision of software for ComAp and DeepSea control systems
3. Modification of existing power generation systems
4. Develop system functional specifications and test specifications
5. Fault diagnosis and rectification on generator control systems
6. System testing to meet client and specification requirements
7. Liaison with customers and other interested parties
You:
To be successful for this role you must:
1. Be educated to ONC / OND / HNC / HND level in one of the following engineering fields: Instrumentation, Control or Electrical or be a time-served Electrician looking to change career
2. Have a background in power generation and experience in commissioning plc control systems
3. Have good technical knowledge of switchgear and generator system controls for either/both gas/diesel engines using ComAp or Deep Sea controllers
4. Be familiar with the principles of emergency generator operation & synchronisation, including knowledge of G59 and G99
5. Possess knowledge of communication networks such as CAN, Serial (RS232/485) and Ethernet
6. Have knowledge of power generation/Battery energy storage systems and 3 phase electrical systems
7. Hold a valid CSCS or ECS Card
8. Have a full valid Driving License
9. Be PC literate with knowledge of Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
