Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic team. This role is perfect for an individual looking to develop their career in quantity surveying within a supportive and forward-thinking environment. As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the Quantity Surveying team in managing costs and ensuring the financial success of our construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cost Management: Assist in the preparation and management of project budgets, cost estimates, and financial reports.
2. Tendering: Support the tendering process, including preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and selecting suppliers and subcontractors.
3. Valuations: Assist in the preparation of interim valuations, final accounts, and project cost control.
4. Contract Administration: Support the administration of contracts, including managing variations and ensuring compliance with contractual terms.
5. Site Visits: Conduct site visits to assess progress, measure works, and ensure that projects are on track and within budget.
6. Data Analysis: Collect and analyse data to provide insights on cost performance and identify areas for improvement.
7. Client Liaison: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Requirements:
1. Education: Degree or HND/HNC in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
2. Experience: Previous experience in a quantity surveying role or within the construction industry is advantageous but not essential.
3. Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, CATO).
4. Numeracy: Strong numerical and analytical skills with an attention to detail.
5. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
6. Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
7. Organisational Skills: Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
8. Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues, analyse data, and propose effective solutions.
