You'll be working in a specialist supported living service supporting five gentlemen and one lady in their 20s and 30s, all of whom have PMLD and complex health needs. Most use wheelchairs and hoists, and four require 1:1 support, while two need 2:1 support in the community. Each person has their own unique personality and passions, including:
* Sensory-based activities - hydrotherapy, water play, and intensive interaction
* Exploring the outdoors - motorcross tracks, church visits, and train station trips
* Creative expression - painting, music, nursery rhymes, and roleplay
* Social outings - visiting cafés, food shows, and local community activities
* Physical activity - hydrotherapy, gentle movement, and mechanics workshops
This is an exciting, hands-on role where you'll help encourage communication, promote independence, and support individuals to engage in meaningful activities.
What Will You Be Doing?
* Providing personal care - supporting with bathing, dressing, and toileting
* Hoisting & mobility assistance - supporting wheelchair users safely
* Supporting meals & feeding - including PEG feeding for one individual
* Administering medication - full training provided
* Engaging in activities - from sensory play to community outings
* Building strong relationships - working closely with families, staff, and health professionals
Shift Patterns Available:
* Day Shifts: 7:00am - 3:00pm / 3:00pm - 10:00pm / Long Days 7:00am - 10:00pm
* Weekend Shifts: 10:30am - 8:30pm
* Waking Nights: 10:00pm - 7:00am (Friday & Saturday), 10:00pm - 8:30am (Sunday)
