Job title: IT Project Manager

This opportunity is in the solution design and development arena for IT Project Manager who will play a major role with the technical design and development of the company’s technical offerings. The role is based at our Leicester office with occasional assignments at client locations
Job Description (Main Duties and Responsibilities):
Develop and implement IT strategies, policies, and procedures to support the organization's goals and objectives.
Analyze departmental needs, identify vulnerabilities, and boost productivity, efficiency, and accuracy to inform business decisions
Ensure network components work together seamlessly to meet business needs, using their full range of capabilities, and stay informed about new features and competitor solutions
Analyze processes, technologies, and vendors continually to find areas for improvement
Prepare cost–benefit analyses when upgrades are necessary, and monitor vendors to ensure that they’re offering the best-possible service and value for business needs
Train employees to use software and hardware; troubleshoot issues and provide technical support when needed
Develop and execute disaster planning and maintain data backups
Manage and mentor a team of IT professionals, including system administrators, network engineers, help desk technicians, and other support
Plan and oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
Ensure the security and integrity of IT systems and data through the implementation of cybersecurity measures, policies, and practices.
Collaborate with other departments to understand their technology needs and provide solutions and support to meet business requirements.
Manage IT projects from inception to completion, including budgeting, resource allocation, and timeline management.
Oversee vendor relationships and contracts, negotiate pricing and terms, and ensure service level agreements are met.
Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize downtime and mitigate risks.
Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience Needed [The candidate must demonstrate these in all stages of assessment]
4 to 5 years of experience in IT management
An industry qualification such as PRINCE2, 'Agile' project management, PMP or APM
Strong technical background in systems administration, network infrastructure, cybersecurity, and IT operations.
Experience with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) or other IT service management frameworks is a plus.
Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and virtualization technologies.
Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS) and industry-specific requirements.
Familiarity with IT governance frameworks (e.g., COBIT, ISO/IEC 27001) and risk management practices.
Understanding of networking principles, protocols, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) to manage and troubleshoot network infrastructure and connectivity issues.
Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle ERP, Microsoft Dynamics) for integrating and managing core business processes such as finance, human resources, supply chain, and customer relationship management.
Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, KVM) for creating and managing virtual machines and virtualized environments to optimize resource utilization and scalability.
Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle) and SQL language for database administration, performance tuning, and data management.
Certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), PMP (Project Management Professional), or ITIL certifications are desirable.

Salary: GBP 52000 to 65000 per annum
