The business is at the forefront of the energy transition having developed a prominent track record in converting customers from higher emissions fuels to lower carbon and cleaner solutions for the last decade and is now well placed with a significant range of opportunities to develop and diversify into New Energies into the future in line with our 2040 vision to provide 100% renewable solutions to customers.
Flogas has been highly acquisitive in executing this strategy, investing over £50 million in the recent acquisitions of Protech, DTGen and Equity Energies, bringing together a compelling proposition of products, technologies, and services to support customers in navigating their energy needs through the transition and to execute their strategies in regard to energy cost, security and carbon emissions on their own pathway to net zero.
Flogas Britain has revenues of around £400 million and employs over 1,500 people across its multi-site operation across Britain with its headquarters in Syston, Leicestershire.
Job Purpose
Reporting to the site manager, you will be responsible for delivering safety and compliance, and effectively managing all aspects relating to people, assets, processes and performance related to the site.
Accountabilities
1. Retain existing customer base by driving customer service standards within the site
2. Managing bulk stocks in line with customer demand
3. Ensuring cylinder filing meets demand and stock requirements
4. Implementation of the company safety management system on site
5. Protecting the company’s operating licence by ensuring management and compliance with driver’s hours & tachograph regulations and working time directive
6. Managing resource levels and proficiency in order to meet customer demand and achieve high proficiency levels
7. Maintenance of safety critical equipment in accordance with PSPI’s
8. Manage the safety on site in accordance with the safety management system to meet compliance and drive a safety culture
9. Assist in all aspects of managing colleagues on site including selection, recruitment, training, performance management and appraisals etc
10. Manage compliance of company processes and procedures relating to sales, stocks, financial controls within the operating system (CODAS)
11. Complying to Flogas operating procedures and works instructions
12. Deputise for the Site Manager in their absence
Job Holder Requirements
Essential
1. Demonstrate a positive attitude towards Health & Safety
2. Knowledge of working to Health & Safety and employment law good practice
3. Multi task effectively
4. Demonstrate numeracy and literacy skills
5. Effectively communicate with customers and colleagues at all levels
6. Able to show effective management of people and problems
7. Professional and conducts themselves with integrity and honesty at all times
8. Computer literate, including competence in Outlook, Word and Excel
9. Able to demonstrate commercial awareness (in management of margins and volumes)
10. Be reliable and flexible to accommodate seasonal influences
11. Experienced in customer service, providing great service and resolving customer issues
Desirable
1. Holder of a Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Haulage (CPC)
2. Knowledge of COMAH regulations including properties, safe handling and storage of dangerous goods
3. Experience of CODAS or similar operating systems
4. Experience of ADR / CDG Regulations
5. Knowledge of Bulk Tanker operations
