The EHS Lead will be responsible for providing a detailed level of support to the Ramp Up Project Leaders who are responsible for delivering key work packages of enabling projects for the Single Aisle Wing Programme.
The role requires an in-depth knowledge of the processes and procedures involved in bringing in, installing, and commissioning industrial assets. The main aim is to prevent injury, ill health, and loss.
The overall result must include the achievement of operational and strategic functional objectives in a national & transnational context, in full compliance with relevant regulations, best available technology and customer expectations.
Accountabilities and Activities
1. Drive a 'safety first' culture in the team and be a 'champion for safety'.
2. Ensure employee safety through competence management, risk assessment and risk reduction, audit, and legislative compliance.
3. To cooperate with and seek direction and advice from the EHS team on matters of EHS strategy, policy, process, and method, as necessary.
4. Support and enable the Project Leaders and MFTs to ensure the scope of the projects and project teams comply with legal requirements, best practice and policy regarding safety and health in the work environment.
5. Identify potential hazards in the project scope and implementation that could lead to injury, ill health and loss and undertake risk assessments to help in setting priorities for further control and management of risks in the work environment.
6. To produce and support the implementation of appropriate local procedures, method statements and systems as required by legislation, policy, or risk assessment, in the format required by the EHS team.
7. To ensure that the Airbus policy on environment and health and safety risk assessment is applied to the project.
8. Direct support to the Project Leaders by consulting and performing the necessary
9. activities to ensure all industrial asset installations are safe for operation.

11. Risk Assessment and Safe systems of work enablement and support
12. Ergonomic Assessment enablement and support
13. CDM compliance
14. Identification of statutory inspections required
15. Ensure Fire Risk Assessment is in place
16. Ensure Impacts and Aspects studies are in place
17. Implement, and assist with the development of, a safety training strategy that meets the needs of compliance, policy and production.
18. Exercise a strong team governance inclusive of improving the ways of working through Project Management standards and principles.

Skills and Competencies
22. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
23. Good working knowledge of PUWER and all other applicable legislation, guidance and best practice.
24. Ability to work in a team and on own initiative.
25. Proven communications skills.
26. Ability to write clear, concise, plain English documentation to a high standard.
27. Ability to produce suitable and sufficient risk assessments that appropriately balance cost and risk.
28. Minimum of two years working in a health and safety role.
29. Minimum of three years working in a manufacturing environment.
