Health & Safety Consultant / Risk Assessor (3 Days Per Week)

If so, this short-term contract with a leading manufacturer in the automobile industry could be just what you're after. As a Health and Safety Consultant, you'll have the chance to contribute to some of their most critical heavy engineering and high-risk operations on a key part of their site. You'll collaborate closely with the team, leading the development and refinement of essential risk assessments.
The contract is set to start with an initial one-month term, with the possibility of extension based on the company's evolving needs.
Responsibilities for the Health & Safety Consultant / Risk Assessor:
1. Conducting and documenting comprehensive health and safety risk assessments, operating procedures, and developing training materials as part of a newly enhanced health and safety programme.
2. Creating and managing detailed action plans based on risk assessments to ensure compliance and safety improvements.
3. Assisting in the ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement of the health and safety management system.
4. Collaborating closely with shop floor teams across the company, providing guidance and support to ensure timely delivery of projects.
5. Promoting best practices across the facility, with a focus on the safe use and monitoring of heavy and high-risk machinery.
The successful Health & Safety Consultant / Risk Assessor will have:
1. Proven experience in a similar consultancy role, ideally from within the manufacturing, chemicals heavy engineering, or a mechanical industry.
2. Relevant health and safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH or NCRQ qualified).
3. Experience with writing risk assessments, policies, and procedures.
4. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
