We are looking for a full time (working hours can be negotiated) Quality and Performance Officer (QPO) to be part of the busy Quality Team, which is led by the Quality Manager. The whole team is fully integrated across all forensic accreditations within Thames Valley Police but this particular role will primarily focus on Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) Forensics.
The role holder will support the Quality and Performance Manager in the implementation of Quality Standards across all forensic services within Thames Valley Police, and in particular CTPSE. In line with Forensic Science Regulators Code of Practice, you will seek improvements to service delivery where possible. In addition, when directed, the role holder will maintain, audit, and review procedures within accredited units to ensure compliance with the Accreditation Standards, acting on and resolving any non-conformances.
The successful candidate will have previous experience of working within an ISO accredited environment, for example ISO17025, ISO17020, ideally having led internal audits, have proven experience in the preparation and delivery of training, and be able to build effective working relationships at all levels.
We are seeking a candidate with a good standard of education. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, literacy and numeracy skills.
You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. For this reason a full UK Driving Licence is essential to the role.
Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level SC together with a number of enhanced security checks. In order to achieve this, you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past five years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.
