We're looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our Mechanical and Electrical/Design Team and create a real impact by leading and managing project coordination and delivery, creating comprehensive designs, detailed drawings, and intricate schematics, utilizing a suite of current software tools.
Your new role:

* Manage projects effectively to ensure that the coordination of technical elements is achieved to meet project targets.
* Provide full line management responsibilities for the Mechanical team supporting the growth and development of our junior, intermediate and senior engineers.
* Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with legal and technical regulations, codes of practice or guidelines.
* Ensure that the designs are delivered within the planned programme for projects and that the designs are within budget.
* Provide exceptional proficiency in mechanical building services design, and a deep comprehension of technical requirements, legislation, and industry best practice.
* Exhibit a strong commercial acumen and exercise financial oversight, monitoring project expenditure against established targets.
* Lead the Mechanical Team, provide guidance and act as a mentor to the team.
* Create and develop designs that meet and satisfy client briefs in cooperation with other design professionals.
* Provide professional and technical expertise and advice to all internal and external customers as required, ensuring quality standards are maintained.
What you’ll bring:

* Demonstrable evidence of successful project management of complex multi-disciplinary projects including budgets and final accounts.
* Strong commercial acumen and experience in financial oversight, monitoring project expenditure against established targets.
* A range of experience in designing, specifying, site surveying and project management of multiple building projects.
* Demonstrable knowledge of RIBA stages of work and in-depth knowledge of building regulations.
* Exceptional proficiency in mechanical building services design, and a deep comprehension of technical requirements, legislation, and industry best practice.
* You’ll have a basic understanding of sustainability in the workplace, and be committed to support the business with its carbon reduction strategy.
* Demonstrable knowledge of CDM pertaining to the design function of projects.
* The ability to make decisions and solve problems to meet operational targets, involving devising solutions and prioritising the resources available.
