We are seeking a Special Educational Needs, KS3 Teacher for a vibrant primary school in Brixton, specialising in supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) in Year 7. The students work from a student-centred curriculum, focusing on choices, independence, and the world around them.
In this rewarding KS3 Teacher role, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment tailored to the unique needs of each student. Your expertise as an SEN or KS3 Teacher will help develop individualised learning plans that promote engagement, independence, and social skills.

The successful KS3 Teacher applicant will join an outstanding rated SEN school in Brixton for children with severe learning difficulties. This SEN school offers provision for pupils from 4-19 years, who have severe learning differences. The school provides a range of unique enabling environments, both indoor and outdoor, to maximise learning opportunities and meet pupils' specific needs, allowing students to gain independence and life skills.
KS3 Teacher Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement personalised educational programs based on a curriculum with three various pathways.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and educational psychologists.
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting approaches and tailoring learning to suit their needs.
- Engage with parents and caregivers to support student development at home and in school.
- Work with and lead a support team within the classroom.
KS3 Teacher Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of ASD and SLD.
- Experience working in a primary education setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
