As a Sales Engineer you will be required to work in a time critical environment, create proposals for spares and service work, as well as working closely with other departments within the company to ensure costings and lead times are correct and accurate.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Demonstrate capability within the Bid Process, challenging costs and estimates to ensure margin maximisation.
2. Consistently meet the high standards of customer service required by BEL Valves.
3. Represent BEL Valves at external and internal client meetings, consistently displaying high professional standards of communication and behaviour.
4. Proactively build strong relationships with current clients, seeking to secure future projects by inspiring confidence, building trust and delivering excellent customer service.
5. Take an active role in the initial review of purchase orders, recording data accurately into IFS for approval by senior manager.
6. Ensure all department processes and procedures are accurately followed and maintained.
7. Consistently prepare and submit quotations in a timely manner, ensuring strict adherence to specified requirements and guidelines.
8. Proficient in the compilation and costing of valves and spare parts, collaborating closely with the Procurement Department to secure precise pricing information.
9. Act as the gatekeeper for component costs, utilizing knowledge and experience to challenge irregular pricing with Procurement Department.
10. Collaborate with various departments to verify the accuracy of costings, delivery timelines, and supporting documentation, ensuring alignment with manufacturing capabilities.
11. Participate in internal meetings and deliver a clear overview of potential work based on submitted bids and client correspondence.
12. Coordinate with senior managers to seek guidance on technical information, contractual matters, and commercial terms.
13. Ensure the maintenance of accurate records for all submitted bids, along with their associated documentation.
14. Guarantee the comprehensive review, approval, acknowledgment, and accurate entry of all received orders into the business system, prior to formal release to the business.
15. Takes ownership for the consistent maintenance and management of interchangeability forms for SPIR, ensuring these forms are up to date, accurate and readily accessible when required.
Who we are looking for:
To apply, you must have previous experience in a similar role within an engineering and/or manufacturing organisation.
You must have an understanding of costs, margins and profit and be able to demonstrate effective communication both written and verbal when negotiating with clients.
We’re looking for someone who has a flexible and motivated approach to work activities with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The ability to work under pressure and within time constraints are also essential.
