Job Description Decontamination Driver / Porter 37.5 Hours Per Week We are now inviting applications for the post of Decontamination Driver/Porter to join our busy team at Berkshire Independent Hospital. This will be a hybrid role split with 50-60% driver duties and 50-40% with theatre porter duties. We are seeking a competent individual to work in our Berkshire Independent Hospital as a Driver, the primary driving role will include the collection and delivery of medical instruments from/to our local Ramsay hospitals to Ashtead Hospital in Surrey. Alongside this, you will also support the theatre department with a high quality of porter services. Flexibility from the successful candidate is essential as the Hub operates 7 days a week. Shifts will be varied, examples of these are; 6am-2pm. 12pm-8pm A full clean category B driving license will be required for this role. Duties Include Removing trolleys of sets/instruments from Autoclaves Scanning of sets/instruments into trolleys producing a dispatch note Loading trolleys into Company Vans, making sure the trolleys are not overweight Drive to various hospitals and unloading trolleys at other end The collection of dirty/used sets/instruments and bring back to Sterile Services East To assist in the smooth running of the operating department. To assist in the preparation and closing down of theatres. To assist with manual handling in the theatre. Ensure relevant consumables available.
