We’re looking for Finance Managers to join us in Bradford.
Working in a constantly changing, dynamic, fast-paced, and diverse environment, the Financial Manager is responsible for Management Accounting or Financial Accounting across companies within the Liberty Global footprint including Virgin Media. The role will suit a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail. The successful candidate must be deadline-focused with an aptitude for process improvement and simplification.
What will you be doing?
Key responsibilities include:
Month-end activities:
1. Perform accounting processes across the organisation
2. Prepare journal entries
3. Prepare analysis and provide insight into areas of focus
4. Work within internal reporting deadlines
5. Make recommendations to improve and simplify processes
6. Liaise with Senior Stakeholders and influence decision-making across the organisation
Control:
1. Implement an effective internal control framework
2. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, highlighting and resolving any issues
3. Ensure compliance with SOX and other regulatory requirements
4. Liaise with auditors and provide evidence and supporting narrative as required
5. Drive process improvement and automation
6. Ensure work is performed efficiently
7. Identify opportunities to improve and simplify processes
8. Work collaboratively to standardise processes
9. Collaborate with automation teams to automate processes
We tend to look for people with:
1. Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc.)
2. Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
3. Experience of working within large corporate structures
4. Strong Excel and financial systems skills (e.g., Oracle, Hyperion/HFM)
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to coach and develop others
6. Experience of working in a complex environment, delivering to deadlines
7. Experience of research into emerging or complex accounting or reporting issues
