Further Information
No. 28 Bedford Street has already undergone significant work to conserve the external fabric of the building, and the third (top) floor has been renovated as office and archive space.
The next phase of work is possible thanks to a National Lottery Heritage Fund Development Grant, which has been awarded to UNTOLD: The Museum Ltd to progress the internal design of the building’s public spaces, i.e. galleries, education suite, library, conference room, café and shop. This is a challenging subject area, and to ensure shared community ownership, a co-design approach will be implemented.
The work completed during the Development Phase will produce the detailed design for The National Lottery Heritage Fund Delivery Stage application. Using money raised by National Lottery players, The National Lottery Heritage Fund supports projects that connect people and communities with the UK’s heritage. UNTOLD Stories of the Irish in the British Army is made possible with support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, The Charity will be able to work with community groups to co-design the new galleries at No.28 Bedford Street.
