Are you a Social Worker who would like to become part of the Learning Disabilities team? If so, then read on!
There are some temporary Social Work posts in the Learning Disabilities Care Management and Transitions teams. In these posts, you would have the opportunity to work in partnership with people in Leeds with learning disabilities, their carers, and a range of other professionals and colleagues, including health and provider organisations.
What your work may involve:
1. Utilising strength-based approaches to empower individuals and support customers to maximise their potential.
2. Working in partnership to assess individual’s needs, support plans, and help to arrange a variety of services and support to meet needs; utilising approaches that empower and support customer choice and control.
3. Meeting the challenges of both personalisation and working within significant financial constraints to develop creative support plans that deliver personalised outcomes and cost-effective solutions.
4. Working in partnership to keep people safe and reduce risks. Depending on the role, you may need skills and experience to undertake safeguarding investigations and develop and implement protection plans; and to assess risk and implement risk management plans.
5. Mental Capacity Assessments with individuals and, where appropriate, make best interest decisions.
