We have two positions available 34.5 hours and 30 hours per week. Role Summary To function as a senior practitioner on the Neonatal unit using expert knowledge and skills to achieve the optimum outcome for the neonate and family in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team. To be responsible for co-ordinating, supervising and supporting neonatal staff in the clinical areas in the delivery of individualised care to the neonate in partnership with the family. To be responsible for supervising and mentoring members of the team. To be responsible for co-ordinating and managing the shift. To be responsible for providing professional leadership within the team. To be designated to take charge of the ward/department regularly, in the absence of the Neonatal unit manager. To be responsible for supervising and managing a named group of staff within the establishment. To be responsible for an area of quality improvement. Promote a culture where clinical governance and patient safety are integrated into the care and wellbeing of all patients, staff and families, promoting, openness and accountability. Support staff and guide them in management of incidents and complaints, promoting reflection on practice and disseminating learning. Ensure the appropriate level of investigation is undertaken in response to incidents, reflecting the severity of incidents. Please see attached job description and person specification.
