Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child in Year 1 at a welcoming primary school in Fleetwood. This role is focused on supporting a pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and behavioural challenges, helping them engage with learning and thrive in the classroom environment.
Your Role:
Provide tailored support to the child, promoting positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual strategies and plans.
Develop a strong, trusting relationship with the child to build confidence and emotional resilience.
Monitor progress and adapt approaches as needed to ensure the pupil’s needs are met.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience supporting children with Autism or behavioural needs (desirable but not essential if you have transferrable skills).
A patient, proactive, and caring attitude.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification) or significant experience in a similar role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
