Could you be the full-time onsite Test Engineer in Plymouth, we’re looking for?
Take on a new challenge and apply your comprehensive testing and engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside innovative, diligent, and collaborative teammates. You'll significantly contribute to the optimisation of manufacturing processes through the development and maintenance of testing systems within the framework of our Product test strategy and Industrial test roadmap, adhering to QCD objectives. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (including engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance), support tender quotations for industrial test means, and much more.
We’ll look to you for:
• Supporting tender quotations for industrial test means,
• Contributing to Product test strategy and industrialisation test roadmap,
• Guaranteeing the application of industrial testing standards during product development,
• Contributing to Hardware test specification and FAT Software defined by engineering,
• Developing, validating, and maintaining test sequences and programming tools as per the Product test strategy,
• Managing testing means development or upgrade, to deliver best in class manufacturing / testing efficiency, including configuration management,
• Ensuring support to manufacturing related to industrial test means: deployment, upgrade, and continuous improvement,
• Training workers and EPU managers during the design and industrialisation phase,
• Complying with EHS Alstom and external standards,
• Ensuring continuous training and permanent qualification of the workers

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field,
• Experience or understanding of test engineering in a manufacturing environment,
• Knowledge of product test strategies and industrial test roadmaps,
• Familiarity with Design for Test (DFT) rules and standard test platform usage,
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team,
• Proficiency in hardware test specification and Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) software,
• Ability to manage testing means development and maintenance, including configuration management,
• Knowledge and capability in C# and Python programming languages would be advantageous, but not essential.
• Skills in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective solutions,
• Experience in training and supporting manufacturing teams,
• Commitment to continuous learning and improvement in test engineering practices
