Audit Manager - Hybrid - (Plymouth)

The Role:
The Audit Manager will be responsible for overseeing the audit process for a diverse client portfolio, working closely with audit partners to deliver high-quality assurance services. Key duties include planning and managing fieldwork, reviewing and finalising audit files, and ensuring deadlines and KPIs are consistently met. The role will also involve staff management, technical support, and active involvement in developing client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage audits from planning through to completion across a range of industries.
* Review audit files and financial statements for accuracy and compliance.
* Supervise and support junior staff, providing coaching and feedback as required.
* Conduct technical research and offer practical, client-focused advice.
* Contribute to the development of the audit department, including process improvement and business development.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact.
* Attend networking events and represent the firm within the local business community.
* Occasionally travel to client sites across the region.
The Ideal Candidate:
* ACA or ACCA qualified with significant post-qualification experience in audit.
* Proven track record managing audits and supervising teams within a practice environment.
* Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS 102, and International Auditing Standards.
* Competent in using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; familiarity with Caseware and Sage is advantageous.
* Professional, well-organised, and able to handle multiple engagements effectively.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a client-focused approach.
