In the Speciality Care Business Unit, we support a broad portfolio and pipeline of medicines, including those for Rare Diseases, Inflammation & Immunology and antibiotics for difficult to treat, resistant infections. The Medical Affairs Advisor/Manager role is an excellent opportunity to engage and collaborate with healthcare professionals and professional bodies to facilitate a medical and scientific bridge between Pfizer and the healthcare community.
We have one position available in Rare Disease (Rare Haematology and other rare diseases), with the opportunity to progress at Advisor to Manager level dependent on the breadth of experience for the successful candidates. The position allows the flexibility of the successful candidates to be based anywhere in the UK, working remotely.
Role Main Responsibilities and Duties
1. Provide medical & scientific support to healthcare professionals and professional bodies through scientific communications and support for clinical research.
2. Build and develop enduring external relationships facilitating a medical and scientific bridge between Pfizer and the healthcare community.
3. Liaise with healthcare professionals to effectively communicate and manage drug safety issues.
4. Deliver the medical plan in relation to medical projects, investigator sponsored research (ISR), clinical trials, non-interventional studies, database studies and registries.
5. Acquire and maintain in-depth scientific knowledge of Pfizer medicines within nominated therapy area(s) as well as of key competitors.
6. Provide medical/scientific input into protocol feasibility assessments for clinical trial proposals.
7. Support for other departments including Regulatory Affairs, Drug Safety, Medical Information, Health and Value, and Corporate Affairs.
REQUIRED SKILL SET
1. Fluency in Business English.
2. Medical, Pharmacy or Science degree.
3. For medical applicants GMC registration with a Licence to Practice is preferred.
4. For pharmacy applicants UK registration is preferred.
5. For scientists, a postgraduate science degree (e.g., PhD, MSc) is preferred.
