About us
Salford City Council’s Waste and Recycling service provides a range of domestic waste, trade waste and recycling collections to approximately 260,000 residents and 125,000 premises. These services include food & garden recycling, pulpable & comingled recycling, domestic & business waste collections, bulky household collections and bin deliveries. In order to deliver these essential services, we have a dedicated team who provide all the facilities and information for our customers to enable them to manage their waste correctly. Although we have increased recycling rates significantly over the last few years our aim is to improve on those achievements further.
We currently have an exciting vacancy within our team to enable us to continue to build on our success and also bring new experience, knowledge and ideas into the team.
About the Role
You will work as part of an admin team to support the Waste and Recycling service based in Turnpike Depot. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
* Managing and responding to customer enquiries via phone and email.
* Processing service requests from residents and businesses.
* Maintaining accurate records and updating different databases.
* Supporting the team with reports, correspondence, and scheduling.
About you

You are a dedicated professional with a good understanding of Waste and Recycling services. You enjoy working as part of a team, can manage multiple tasks efficiently, and you have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. You are proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable handling data, documents, and customer queries. Experience in an administrative role would be an advantage.
