Forces Support Charity – Retail Area Manager
Central/Southern Region
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to play a key role in building the Charity’s retail teams to support our charitable objectives.
Our charity shops are vital in supporting Forces Support’s aim to support the families and dependants of service personnel who have lost their lives whilst serving in the British Armed Forces.
It would not be possible for the Charity to support these causes without our committed teams in our retail stores. We are looking for someone with the drive and passion for Charity retail who will be able to nurture and support the retail teams, empowering them to run their stores and increase income.
The objectives of the charity are:
1. To provide support to the families and dependants of service personnel who have lost their lives whilst serving in the British Armed Forces.
2. To support ex-service personnel, their families, and dependants who are in need through financial hardship by assisting, in conjunction with our partners, the provision of housing and other forms of charitable support.
About the Role
No two days are the same in the life of a Retail Area Manager. You will be the friendly face of the Charity for all the staff and volunteers based across the region in our retail stores, offering training, guidance, and support. Supporting the National Operations Manager and CEO with the effective operation and performance of the charity’s retail premises and all aspects of the retail business.
Based from our Witney Head Office, the role will involve travel across the stores within the region, which at times will mean working away from home. You will be supported by the National Operations Manager to deliver the business strategy and to drive the performance of the stores and teams.
About You
This is a key role within the charity, and as such, you will have proven experience as a Retail Area Manager, ideally including multi-site management and the charitable sector.
You will enjoy a varied and busy role. With a personable and positive outlook, you will be able to adapt to challenging situations and changing priorities.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to inspire, support, motivate, and empower your staff.
You will be a team player with the ability to work independently and on your own initiative. Self-motivated and able to work under pressure with strong organisational and time management skills.
This role requires a full clean driving licence.
