Our schools cater to young people aged 2-19, supporting over 200 pupils with a wide range of learning needs, including moderate to severe learning difficulties, complex and multiple learning needs, and Autism. Some students have additional needs such as physical, medical, speech and language, visual, hearing, or sensory impairment.

Apprenticeship Summary:
* Salary: £10,816 per year
* Working Week: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 8:45am – 3:45pm / Wednesday 8:45am – 4:15pm / Friday 8:45am – 3:15pm (30-minute lunch break included)
* Hours: 32.5 hours per week
* Online apprenticeship training supported by skilled tutors
* Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship standard qualification
Overview of the Role:
Your job is to help students with special educational needs (SEND) in the classroom and around the school. You’ll work with teachers to support learning, encourage independence, and create a safe, happy environment for all students.
What You’ll Do:
* Help with Personal Care: Support students with tasks like dressing, feeding, toileting, and moving around if needed. Training is provided.
* Support Learning: Assist students in following lessons, using classroom tools (like computers), and understanding instructions.
* Encourage Independence: Work with students to build confidence and life skills based on their individual plans.
* Manage Behaviour: Safely assist with challenging behaviours. Training will prepare you for difficult situations.
* Set Up Classrooms: Prepare materials and tidy up after lessons.
* Work with Others: Follow guidance from teachers, therapists, and other staff to help students thrive.
* Supervise Activities: Look after students during breaks, lunchtime, or on school trips.
Key Things to Know:
* Training is provided for everything, including first aid, behaviour support, and communication tools like Makaton or British Sign Language.
* You’ll need to follow school rules on safety, privacy, and equality.
* This job involves physical tasks like lifting or assisting students in wheelchairs.
* You’ll be part of a team working to make school a positive experience for everyone.

* A DBS background check will be required (provided by the school).
* Occasional work outside regular school hours for trips or events may be necessary.
* This role may evolve to meet the school’s needs.

Training and Development:
As an apprentice, you will receive support through on-the-job learning and formal training as part of your apprenticeship programme, typically including:
* Study towards a relevant qualification, Level 3 Teaching Assistant Diploma.
* On-the-job training and mentoring from experienced teaching professionals.
* Regular review meetings to track progress and development.
