Plumber / Heating Engineer (Mechanical Craftsperson) - Suffolk
Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) are looking for a skilled Plumber/Heating Engineer to join our existing multi-disciplinary professional maintenance team in providing a safe environment for all service users, staff and visitors across our Suffolk sites being based at Hospital Road Bury St Edmunds IP33 3NR

The ideal candidate would be a Gas Safe Registered engineer, however this is not essential as we will support and provide relevant training for the right person.
Main duties of the job
The work relates to both domestic and specialist commercial aspects of plumbing, hot and cold water systems, ventilation & heating systems and natural gas systems.
The successful candidate would be flexible, enthusiastic, self-motivated and confident in being part of a team that provides a comprehensive maintenance service in a unique and varied environment.
Duties & Responsibilities Associated with this role:
1. To provide a comprehensive service to include all aspects of planned and routine maintenance and servicing
2. To repair and maintain a wide range of mechanical services and equipment on site
3. Ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with the requirements of Health and Safety and other relevant legislation
4. Fault finding and diagnosis
5. Routine inspections to ensure our estate is safe and fully compliant
6. Be prepared to participate as a member of the On-Call Team providing an emergency out of hours service on a rotational basis

Qualifications
Essential
23. Recognised and registered CITB or EITB minimum three year apprenticeship in plumbing/mechanical engineering
24. City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3 OR NVQ Level 3 in mechanical engineering
25. City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3 OR NVQ Level 3 plumbing
26. Full UK driving licence for ability to drive Trust vehicles
Desirable
27. BTEC, ONC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Experience
Essential
28. Two years relevant experience having demonstrated high technical versatility and flexibility
Desirable
29. Experience of working in a mental health or secure services hospital environment
