Clinical/Educational Psychologist or Psychological Practitioner
This post offers an exciting opportunity for a Clinical/Educational Psychologist or Psychological Practitioner to work in Beechwood College, a specialist residential college for Autistic individuals.
This Band 7/8a role would be suitable for a new/recently qualified Clinical/Educational Psychologist or a Registered Clinician (e.g. Nurse, Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist) with further training in psychological therapies suitable for people with Autism.
The clinician will join a vibrant and established clinical team consisting of a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Behaviour Support Nurse, Assistant Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Dietician, and Physiotherapist.
Main duties of the job
They will be part of this specialist multidisciplinary team delivering behaviour support and psychological therapy to both residential and day students at the college.
The post holder will have the opportunity to work under the supervision of a Consultant Clinical Psychologist to provide comprehensive assessment and intervention. They will also have an opportunity to develop their own supervision skills, as appropriate, with Assistant Psychologists and/or Trainee placements.
Job responsibilities
1. To provide a specialised psychological assessment and therapy to the students of Beechwood College.
2. To work autonomously in accordance with The British Psychological Society Code of Conduct, Ethical Principles & Guidelines 2004, HCPC registration policies, and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.
3. To contribute to the development of local team policies and procedures in order to facilitate improvements in service quality.
4. To supervise and train other professionals and contribute to the training of trainee clinical psychologists.
5. To utilise specialised research skills for audit, policy and service development, and research.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Doctorate in Clinical/Educational Psychology or Professional Registration in relevant health profession (Nursing, OT, SALT) plus further training in psychological therapy.
* Advanced PBS training.
* Post graduate training in CBT / DBT / ACT / CFT / other therapies adapted for individuals with Autism.
* Mental Capacity Act Training.
Experience
* Experience of teaching other staff.
* Experience in Autism services.
* Experience in Learning Disability services.
* Working within a Multi-Disciplinary Team.
* Attending reviews and case conferences.
* Use of SPSS.

Full Driving Licence required.
