As well as traditional transport construction projects and programmes, such as Metrolink and Bus Franchising, we are now delivering a range of emerging priorities including easing congestion, active travel, and the government s local agenda. In this role you will be involved in developing and delivering a diverse range of both new and existing projects and programmes shaping Greater Manchester s strategic priorities. You will collaborate with project stakeholders to support the accounting and decision-making process, providing financial insight and identifying financial risks and opportunities. We are seeking a talented and passionate finance professional to join our high-performing team, to join us as a Project Accountant as we progress through this exciting time. Working as part of the Project and Programmes Finance team, within the wider TfGM Finance and Corporate directorate, you will be the first point of contact for your stakeholders (both Finance and Non-Finance colleagues) in the delivery of projects that make a real difference to both the regional and national economy. You will have experience successfully working with both Finance and Non-Finance stakeholders; preparing budgets and forecasts; preparing month-end management accounts; have strong communication skills; and be able to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders both within TfGM and across Local Authorities. You will also have good analytical and problem solving skills; with the ability to interpret data (both written and numerical), whilst working to tight deadlines and meeting funding and operational targets.
