A high profile, accessible and responsive leader with Clinical responsibility for the Major Trauma Patients and Administration across the spectrum of the patient pathway. Able to make informed decisions within the Major Trauma Service and scope of professional practice, involving patients and public to ensure agreed national, regional, and local standards, targets and objectives are met.
In conjunction with the Major Trauma Service manager and Clinical Lead, responsible for the provision of a high-quality professional service coordinating the care of major trauma patients from arrival to discharge or transfer to another setting. Promoting best practice and overseeing a review process that looks at quality and efficiency to meet the needs of patients and service. This will include managing a diverse multidisciplinary team of health care professionals and support staff.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Accountable for own actions in accordance with the relevant Code of Professional Conduct. Will contribute to corporate objectives, acting within local, Trust and statutory guidelines and policies always.
2. Highly developed communication skills enabling maintenance of high-quality service within a complex and challenging environment with often conflicting priorities.
3. Experience and skills in patient advocacy and conflict resolution.
4. Contributes to development and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines across the service, ensuring that clinical governance is embedded in practice.
5. Support the Major Trauma Clinical Lead in developing and implementing the Major Trauma Strategy for UHNM in line with local and national directives.

Person Specification
* Educated to degree level
* Evidence of higher level study at Masters Level; Alternatively working knowledge and experience at an equivalent level
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
* Professional training delivery qualification or equivalent experience of delivering and facilitating in challenging environments
* Portfolio of certified/accredited professional development activity undertaken in relevant areas
* Experience and/or qualifications in the specific area of Organisational Development
* Demonstrable level trauma-related CPD

* Experience of working across boundaries to develop networks with key stakeholders within Major Trauma / Critical care or Acute care environment.
* Experience of managing a diverse team utilising the full spectrum of HR practices
