Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to help support with variety of different schools within the Yeovil area. The successful candidate will support the teaching staff in the delivery of the curriculum, ensuring that students receive the assistance they need to reach their full potential. This role will involve working closely with individual students or small groups to support learning, behaviour, and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide support to students with their learning activities, either one-on-one or in small groups, in line with lesson plans.
* Assist the class teacher with the preparation of learning materials and classroom activities.
* Help students with special educational needs (SEN), including providing tailored support where needed.
* Encourage and promote positive behaviour and student engagement in classroom activities.
* Supervise students during break times, lunch periods, and other school activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
* Work collaboratively with other teaching assistants and staff members to maintain a positive learning environment.
* Provide feedback to teachers and other staff members on student progress and behaviour.
Key Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children, ideally in a school or education setting is desirable but not essential.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
* A caring, patient, and flexible approach to supporting children.
* Ability to work independently and use initiative, as well as work collaboratively as part of a team.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
