An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic, reliable and highly motivated individuals to join our busy Radiology department at Mid and South Essex University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, as Band 3 imaging assistants.
The role requires rotation through different areas of the department including CT, Ultrasound, and MRI. You will also be required to rotate through our outlying Community Hospitals from time to time. Staff are required to contribute to the 24-hour service provided by the Radiology department. Nights are worked on rotation within a group of 10 staff.
It is essential that the successful candidate enjoys working with people and has a genuine interest in patient care. You must have excellent communication skills, work well as part of a team, but also have the ability to use your initiative and work individually. On-the-job training will be provided.

Main Duties of the Job
The role of an imaging assistant is a clinical role; they provide support to a variety of staff groups including consultant radiologists, sonographers, and radiographers across all imaging modalities.
Duties involve assisting with minor sterile procedures, chaperoning, coordinating patient lists, and preparing patients for their examinations.
Our imaging assistants are required to provide support for the extended working week; therefore, a commitment to work evenings and weekends is expected as part of core hours or as additional out of hours.
