We're working with a well-established organisation that's looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join them on a fixed-term contract for around 3 months. It's a hands-on role where you'll take the lead on both monthly and 4-weekly payrolls, making sure everything is delivered accurately and on time. You'll also oversee a Payroll Officer and work closely with the HR and Finance teams to keep everything running smoothly. Key Responsibilities: Manage the accurate and timely delivery of payrolls (monthly & 4-weekly) Oversee starters, leavers, and payroll changes alongside HR Ensure full compliance with payroll legislation (SSP, SMP, SPP, etc.) Liaise with HMRC, pension providers, and other regulatory bodies Support with reconciliations, reporting, and audit preparation Supervise and guide the Payroll Officer Maintain and improve systems and templates (SAGE) Oversee pensions, auto-enrolment, and re-enrolment processes Keep processes compliant and up to date About You: Previous experience running end-to-end payroll Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and pensions Confident using SAGE and spreadsheets Experience supervising or mentoring others in a payroll environment Proactive, detail-oriented, and a strong communicator A payroll qualification or equivalent experience would be a bonus Why Apply?
