The Platform Product Manager, Data & Analytics at Primark will be accountable for defining and delivering the enterprise data platform and analytics functions platform strategy, focusing on building scalable, secure, and high-performing data platforms. Working closely with our Technology Partner organisations ensuring that the data infrastructure supports advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning initiatives. Additionally, they will oversee the design of end-to-end data solutions, ensuring alignment with business needs and collaborating closely with Product Management, Architecture, Data and Analytics teams to drive business transformation. We are undergoing exciting data platform modernisation journey including Lakehouse and API based micro services, you will collaborate to develop the platform strategy with the architecture teams and drive operationalisation of the data strategy. What You’ll Do as an Platform Product Manager In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day: Operational reliability: Collaborate with reliability engineering partner to resolve issues and optimise performance. Define and monitor SLAs for uptime, performance, and reliability. Build & Delivery Data Platform Strategy: Own the creation and implementation of the organization’s enterprise data Platform strategy, ensuring alignment with business needs. Product Management: Own and manage the product backlog. Drive initiatives to improve ease of use for platform consumers, such as analysts and data scientists. Ensure integration with third-party tools and systems is seamless. Audit readiness: Prepare for internal and external audits by maintaining detailed records and implementing robust processes. Disaster Recovery: Strategy for a data and analytics platform recovery ensuring rapid recovery from disruptions by meeting RTO/RPO targets, implementing backups and failover mechanisms, regularly testing recovery processes, and aligning with compliance and SLA requirements. Software currency: Ensure that systems remain secure, efficient, and supported by keeping software versions up to date, addressing obsolescence risks, and aligning vendor compliance standards. Technology Platform: Evaluate, implement, and manage modern technology platforms that align with the organization’s data needs. Ensure the integration of best-fit platforms like Azure, Databricks, and other cloud technologies to enable scalable, efficient data storage, processing, and analytics. Experience working with multiple executive level business stakeholders in a matrix environment.
