Description Location: Leeds. Location Strategy Project The Bank of England is increasing its presence across the UK to fully represent the people of the United Kingdom and to reach out to wider pools of talent. Job Description This is an exciting new opportunity within the Location Strategy Project, supporting project management across all Leeds based aspects of the project. This is an 18 month FTC. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal project management role within a high-profile project for the Bank. The role will be within the project management office, and will focus on the Leeds Growth strategy as well as project management of the property solution. The postholder will ensure that project management principles and techniques are practically applied across the project within the agreed time, cost and quality constraints. With a dual reporting line into the Senior Programme Manager and Senior Manager for Leeds Growth; the role is responsible for driving and overseeing the project to ensure that the objectives are clearly defined and achieved within the required timescales and in line with governance. The role will have the following roles and responsibilities – The role is responsible for driving and overseeing the delivery of Leeds Growth and property project management to ensure that the objectives are clearly defined and achieved within the agreed time, cost, and quality constraints. The postholder will also develop and maintain project plans and engage with key stakeholders to ensure these are kept up to date on project plans, and ensures risks, issues and dependencies are shared across the project management office to enable clear reporting and management. The project manager will work with other members of the team to undertake horizon scanning for the project in growth and property and escalate to senior management as required The postholder will use data to inform planning and manage complex internal and external dependencies while providing delivery confidence; with the ability to remove blockers or impediments that affect plans and ensure that teams plan appropriately for their own capacity. Ensure that any interdependencies between different parts of the project are highlighted, recorded and leads are informed Ensure that upcoming governance milestones are known and work with the leads to ensure papers are developed within required timelines Being a role model and ambassador for the project, demonstrating “Our Bank” behaviours, commitment to the purpose of the Bank and providing a supportive team environment Work with other members on the team on project management led power point presentations and report writing; ensuring there is consistency across all of the LSP presentations Develops clear new processes where needed in order to enable delivery of timelines Work with the wider project management office to ensure all risk areas are fed into the risk management process Number of direct reports: 0 - due to matrix working Role Requirements: Minimum (Essential) Criteria At least 3 years project management experience of running own project, or being part of a complex project or programme. Previous experience of working on strategic people projects and/or property project. Evidence the ability to be flexible, adaptable, open to change and work effectively as a team player. Dealing with business risks and issues and understanding a risk management process Experience of translating strategic documents into project plans, and draw out benefits and risks. Ability to think strategically, using judgement and prioritising effectively. Stakeholder management and ability to adapt style to different stakeholder and business groups. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to consistently critically analyse problems and processes, and write reports for senior management. Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task (often operating to tight deadlines). Salary and Benefits Information We encourage flexible working, part time working and job share arrangements. Part time salary and benefits will be on a pro-rated basis as appropriate. The Leeds salary is ranging from £56,390 to £66,960.In addition, we also offer a comprehensive benefits package as detailed below: Currently a non-contributory, career average pension giving you a guaranteed retirement benefit of 1/80th of your annual salary for every year worked. There is the option to increase your pension (to 1/50th) or decrease (to 1/120th) in exchange for salary through our flexible benefits programme each year.
