Job Description & Key Responsibilities As part of the European and broader business unit, which includes members in the US, the Senior Analyst is responsible for assisting with business development duties, including meeting new clients and maintaining existing relationships across Europe, supporting the investment screening and opportunities’ analysis, due-diligence, IC preparation, transactions’ closing and supporting/following the day-to-day collections, in addition to ad-hoc requirements. Responsibilities include: Providing support to the European team in business development and investment activities Participating in client meetings with trips in Europe (Ireland/UK/Spain/Portugal mainly) Maintaining relationships and developing new ones with the community (investors/sellers/banks/etc.) Analyzing portfolios, build/help to build cashflow models. Collecting, processing, and analyzing underlying portfolio data generated externally or by various internal divisions of the company Enhancing Analytics reporting by automating manual processes and improving the accuracy of analyses Developing business intelligence (Data Warehousing and Reporting) solutions such as building dashboards, models, and tools to analyze and present data associated with Balbec and its funds’ portfolio Building and maintaining financial models and performance reports Explaining key valuation assumptions, risks, and performance trends to Partners and decision makers Serving as liaison between the Pricing & Analytics, Accounting, Compliance, Finance, and Investor Relations (Capital Formation Group) teams Developing, maintaining, and explaining recurring and one-off deliverables for investors and prospective clients Preparing daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow analysis of deal performance compared to original projections with in-depth analysis to understand rationale for under/over performance of the deal Reconciliation of cash flow posted to Balbec’s bank account vs cash flow reported by servicers Create and review monthly risk reports by geography and asset class Assist with overall investment processes including data cleanse and manipulation, pricing and stress testing, drafting investment process materials, and executing quantitative asset management functions Qualifications & Experience Role requires a strong quantitative skillset and an ability to maintain / process / analyze large data sets, highly effective communication and interpersonal skills given the multiple constituencies with whom the role must interact. Required: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study (Undergraduate degree required with a good grounding in financial services. Degrees in Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance or similar fields are preferred); candidates with at least 3-5 years of experience in relevant/similar field preferred Strong quantitative and analytical skills with experience with financial modeling, valuations, discounted cash flow analysis, etc. Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Diligent error-checking and debugging habits Detail-oriented and organized with an ability to prioritize and simultaneously manage many projects and drive to completion, with minimal hands-on guidance. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with strong business acumen and an ability to present analysis in a clear and compelling manner Strong teamwork, communication, and time management abilities as well as the ability to work independently.
