Job Overview
The Specialist Child & Adolescent Mental Health Inpatient Service (T4 CAMHS) for North Wales provides assessment and therapeutic services for children and young people age 12-18 and their families and carers.
This post is an exciting opportunity for a Highly Specialist Family & Systemic Psychotherapist to join the multi-disciplinary team for the T4 CAMHS inpatient service.
The post holder will work closely with the Consultant Nurse/ Systemic Family Psychotherapist and the North Wales Lead for Family & Systemic Psychotherapy. In addition, support is available from other highly Specialist Family & Systemic Psychotherapists across North Wales.
Main Duties of the Job
Applications are particularly welcome from individuals with additional training and experience in other evidence-based therapeutic models. An expectation is that the post holder will bring experience of having worked across systems and other partner agencies.
All applicants will be committed to effective multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working and demonstrate the ability to work in collaboration with others. We are seeking candidates who are highly flexible and have a practical approach to working within a Child & Adolescent Inpatient Unit.
Appointment will be subject to satisfactory references, employment checks, and an enhanced DBS.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification
Qualifications and/or Knowledge
Essential Criteria
* Relevant degree
* A recognised post-graduate Family Therapy or equivalent qualification at level of Masters or higher academic award
* A professional qualification in a relevant regulated profession eligible under the Mental Health Measure (Wales) 2010 e.g. nursing, social work, clinical psychology
* UKCP registration as a family/systemic Psychotherapist
* Highly developed knowledge of systemic theory and practice.
* Knowledge of research design and methodology as practised within the field of family therapy
* Knowledge of legislation and its implications for both clinical practice and professional management in relation to this client group i.e. children
Desirable Criteria
* Additional relevant academic and/or accredited therapeutic qualification
Experience
Essential Criteria
* Substantial assessed experience of working as a registered family/systemic psychotherapist
* Experience of implementing evidence-based family interventions
* Substantial assessed experience in relevant regulated profession e.g. nursing, social work, or clinical psychology.
* Experience of taking full clinical responsibility for clients’ care, with experience of co-ordinating care within the context of multi-disciplinary care-planning
Desirable Criteria
* Experience of working directly with children and young people
* Direct experience of Care Coordination under the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010
* Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision

* Highly developed skills in systemic practice
* Ability to develop, manage and co-ordinate family therapy/systemic interviewing
* Ability to develop, manage co-ordinate and provide consultation to other professionals
* Ability to work within an evidence-based framework
* Ability to contain and work with organisational stress and ability to “hold” the stress of others
* Ability to work with highly distressing clinical material and help others manage this
* Ability to work in contexts of high complexity and ongoing change
