We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic Facilities Manager to join us and ensure our properties and facilities in the South Downs are compliant with relevant Health & Safety, Environmental, Fire and Security standards. The role would suit someone looking to expand their existing experience within the facilities discipline and who is not afraid to get their hands dirty. Travel is required around Sussex and Surrey, the successful candidate will require a full driving licence and access to their own vehicle. What it's like to work here This role reports into the Facilities and Support Services Manager for the South Downs. We are a small but vital team working across a diverse range of properties, all with their own bespoke needs and with each day there will be a new scenario to encounter. One day you could be driving across the Downs to monitor a historic lime kiln that requires repairs and another, playing your part to progress the renovations of a redundant agricultural barn. You'll be based at the Slindon Estate but will work across the West of the South Downs so frequent travel between Slindon, Midhurst and Haslemere will be expected. You'll cover various Countryside locations and buildings including Swan Barn Farm, Pound Common Estate Office & Livestock Building, the Slindon Estate Office & Estate Yard as well as numerous small countryside buildings. What you'll be doing For us facilities aren't a back-office function, so you’ll be out and about inspecting our properties and keeping on top of our systems. As part of the property team, you’ll report to the Facilities & Support Services Manager and be accountable for the running of all aspects of facilities management across our properties, making sure we are safe and compliant as well as managing some small projects.
