About the role
The Purchase Ledger Clerk role is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation and loading of all invoices and credit notes onto the ledger, the allocation of all payments and the reconciliation of supplier statements to the ledger.
You are required to effectively communicate and co-ordinate with the Accounts Department, General Managers and all other head office departments and personnel. This role will be reporting into the Management Accountant day-to-day, with overall reporting being to the Financial Controller.
The Purchase Ledger Clerk will assist the accounts department as required with various ad hoc financial accounting, analytical and reporting tasks.
Duties:
- Processing and posting purchase invoices/credit notes
- Managing supplier accounts including making payments and dealing with supplier queries
- Checking invoices to ensure they are accurate against the order and checking with sites that the delivery matches the invoice
- Payment/invoice reconciliations
- Oversee the historic Purchase Ledger managing balances and payments due.
- Proactively develop processes to ensure smooth running of the purchase ledger.
- Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports.
Skills:
- Previous experience in a similar role (minimum 2 years)
- Previous experience with Xero
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of clerical procedures and office management systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
- A knowledge of the hospitality industry is a plus!
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 25 per week
