Freelance Health & Performance Coach [IEC]

UWCSEA Dover is looking for a freelance Health and Performance Coach [IEC] to start in March 2025. The Health and Performance Coach is a key member of the UWCSEA Sports & Activities Team.
Reporting to the Health and Performance Coordinator, the incumbent will implement, deliver and monitor a progressive, expansive Health and Performance Programme along with associated financial and communication support systems.
Main Responsibilities
* Plan and articulate a progressive, age-appropriate Health and Performance conditioning Curriculum.
* Develop and implement a Parent Exercise & Fitness Programme; Develop and implement an Athletic Performance Programme, including athlete data testing systems, strength & conditioning programmes, injury prevention and recovery.
* Collaborate with and provide support and in-service training for: the Physical Education Dept; Aquatic, Tennis, Gymnastics, Basketball & Climbing depts; Community Sports Activities dept; High, Middle and Junior School Competitive Sports Depts; the Parent Association; the Staff Association and the Boarding House.
* Develop & coordinate student target setting and feedback systems and practices; Lead student, staff and parent personal and group fitness, strength & conditioning sessions.
* Develop and manage the vision & content of the Exercise, Strength & Conditioning website.
* Implement and monitor policies for safe use and monitoring of Fitness Centre equipment & resources.
* Manage membership of and access to the UWCSEA Exercise, Strength & Conditioning Centre.
* Assist teachers, coaches and the P.E & sports assistant team to set and break down facilities & equipment for Days of Sports, local and International sports tournaments.
* Assist with any other duties, tasks or jobs with similar levels of responsibility and complexity as may be reasonably requested by the line manager and/or the College.
Person Specifications
* Bachelor’s Degree ideal, minimum Diploma with additional Strength & Conditioning Qualifications.
* Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a similar position working in Schools, Colleges, Professional Sports Clubs and/or the Fitness industry.
* Strong knowledge of contemporary youth and adult general exercise & fitness, athletic performance, strength & conditioning practice and the practical ability to run a wide variety of related courses.
* A proactive worker who seeks opportunities to improve, solves problems, faces challenges and stretches capabilities.
* An enthusiastic team contributor who supports others, promotes new ideas and cooperates across teams.
* A customer-focused attitude with an ability to design solutions for a variety of needs.
* Personally physically fit and a role model to Fitness Centre users.
* Excellent English (written and spoken) and the ability to communicate confidently and respectfully with International School students, parents and staff.
* Flexibility to work during weekends and evenings.
