Ericsson offers an exciting opportunity for an Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Expertise. The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving the EHS policies, programs, and requirements within our organization. Central to this role is driving a sustainable safety culture and advancing employee well-being.
What you will do:
1. Acting as point of contact for project, promoting Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) to project stakeholders implementing EHS strategy, fostering and Promoting Safety Culture, coaching, enabling, promoting and encouraging safe working practices and behaviours promoting Target Zero Culture.
2. Responsible for ensuring onsite activities are carried out by all parties in line with Ericsson MELA & Global environmental sustainability objectives for region ensuring compliance to EHS regulations and strategy across region/project.
3. Support Risk Management of project and region, maintaining project risk register and assisting with task specific risk assessments and reviewing of relevant construction phase health and safety plans.
4. Coordination and deployment responsibilities to meet business needs and ensure compliance with health, safety and well-being requirements, including legal and customer, and health, safety and well-being procedures across all client projects, customers, and authorised Service Providers (ASP).
5. Provide advice and guidance to a range internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to UK EHS Team, Project Teams & Managers, (ASP), individual colleagues, and contractors.
6. Support ongoing management of ASP relationship in relation to EHS as per supplier and work lists for region, give feedback and acting as point of escalation.
7. Review ASP contractor management tools, QPL and PICW registers to ensure compliance of ASPs in region. Handling, tracking and working with projects/ASPs to review open actions to closure.
8. Represent and lead EHS matters in all appropriate governance activities for project and region, providing regional oversight providing physical presence on sites to carry out audit and inspection activities.
9. Establishing and maintaining good operational Customer / Contractor / Internal relationships and communications being a point of escalation. Collaborating closely with Customer’s to understand concerns raised, identify any remediation required, influence implementation and monitor performance ASP and E/// teams.
10. Promote and encourage all internal and external personnel to report incidents, near misses hazards and safety suggestions.
11. Lead Team Accident and Incident Investigation and complete a Root Cause Analysis report into any internal incident / accident investigation within their area of responsibility in liaison with the Head of EHS UK&I and any specialist support that may be required, and provide, track and implement recommendations.
12. Proactively act to identify innovative solutions and improvements to mitigate risk or achieve Environmental sustainability ambitions and promote EHS improvements and initiatives generally.
13. Provide internal training / toolbox talks on EHS relevant topics and lessons learned, updates or new and emerging risks relevant to the business.
14. Regular reporting to Management Team on EHS performance issues and achievements including any agreed EHS Improvement Plans
15. Provide monthly updates to the Head of EHS UK&I concerning projects’ EHS performance, including those relevant to the annual Market Area Europe, Latin America (MELA) KPI’s.
16. Any other duties to support EHS management with project / region as determined by senior management.
The skills you bring:
17. University degree or equivalent experience in Environmental Health and Safety field
18. Health and Safety qualifications such as NEBOSH certificate
19. Knowledge of Construction Design and Management (CDM 2015) Regulations
20. EHS Internal / External Audit experience (ISO:14001/45001)
21. Fluency in English
22. Ability to maintain relationships at all levels across all stakeholders i.e. Ericsson, Customers, Suppliers, Industry bodies and regulators.
23. Ability to effectively assess EHS needs of customer engagements and translation of those into actions for the business applying the MELA Environmental and EHS Management Systems)
24. Extensive experience in working in high-risk environments, including working at height.
25. Extensive experience working with contractors and suppliers.
26. Awareness of hazards involved in construction such as Asbestos Awareness
27. Excellent interpersonal, social and communication skills
28. Demonstrable leadership capability in handling and leading change in a large, complex organization.
29. Ability to influence and inspire action in a matrix organisation.
